Officina AgroCulturale Cafeci
The Officina AgroCulturale Cafeci project was born in 2015 with the aim of promoting greater environmental sensitivity, the spread of more sustainable lifestyles (and travel) and the valorisation of a little-known territory, outside the large tourist flows and the imaginary common.
History
Sustainable lifestyle
Officina AgroCulturale Cafeci was born in Enna in 2015, right in the Cafeci district, in the Enna countryside a few km from Valguarnera. as soon as we returned to our city of origin, we decided to embark on a new adventure away from the daily frenzy and in greater harmony with our Earth, with the aim of spreading more sustainable lifestyles and offering travel experiences in close contact with nature , in a more authentic Sicily and out of the common imagination.
We deal with hiking, trekking and walking, including pack walking, cycle tourism, beekeeping and ApiTurismo, environmental education for the little ones and rural hospitality for both travelers and volunteers looking for new life and work experiences.
We operate mainly in the Erei Mountains, within the Rocca di Cerere Global UNESCO Geopark, land of Myth, wheat and sulfur in the heart of Sicily, where the verdant woods give way to the golden fields dear to Demeter and Kore.
The centrality of our position also allows us to easily reach the three corners of the island and its infinite beauties.
In this “journey” we were immediately joined by bees and donkeys, indispensable and highly esteemed collaborators, so much so that we dedicated our logo to them.
Who better than them can symbolize our project?
Bees, as small as they are hardworking, are fundamental for the survival of biodiversity and life on our planet.
At risk of extinction, with a perfectly functioning social model to take as an example.
The donkey has always been alongside man, an ancient and faithful “means of transport” and work. It is a very empathetic animal, which immediately transmits calm and confidence; slow and prudent, he doesn’t run away when faced with an unexpected event but tries to analyze and deal with it. Its long ears and sensitivity teach us to pay more attention to what surrounds us, slowing down our pace.
Finally, in 2021 we added pedal-assist bikes. Ebikes give everyone the chance to rediscover the pleasure of cycling, the freedom of discovery with a pinch of adrenaline, to travel even long stretches and undertake multi-day journeys on the simplicity of two wheels! Nothing speaks of freedom and humanity like the bicycle: this incredible two-wheeled vehicle allows you to live at a sustainable pace, to explore, to reach unthinkable places… making you feel like a child again!
In 2023 we also opened an office in the centre, in Enna Alta, Outdoor Experience Enna.
