R.N.O. Monte Altesina – full day

Description

This time our two wheels will take you on an adventure to discover the highest peak of the Erei mountains, inside the Rocca di Cerere UNESCO global geopark.

From Lago Nicoletti we will begin our climb towards the summit of “Mons Aereus” and approaching the summit we will cross its green holm oak forest and discover the remains of the civilizations that have lived on the roof of central Sicily since ancient times.

After the visit to the summit archaeological area we will begin our long and “adrenaline-filled” descent towards the starting point.

• route alternates long stretches on dirt and asphalt.
• Difficulty challenging.
• Difference in altitude (+/-) 1100mt
• Starting altitude 390mt.
• Maximum altitude 1192mt.

Experiences:

• Departure from Caseificio Raja arrival at Circolo nautico i tre Laghi (Nicoletti dam)
• Possibility of a shorter route with departure and arrival from the Marzo farm and lunch at Km0. (route of approx. 25 km. company is outside the consortium)
